Media Assignment 3 - Music Video Production!

The final date for completion and hand in of your assignment is 19th December 2013.

Assignments handed in after this date will not be awarded marks to their full merit.  It is important that you adhere to the deadlines set.  As in the 'real world' there is a forfeit for not getting your production finished upon time.

Stay busy, focused and happy!

Mr Milligan.

First Day Of A New Dawn!

Hopefully you have enjoyed your half term break and are now focused on improving your grades in the run up to Christmas (Yes it's that time of year!).

Yr 10 Media should be focused upon their first assignment (Newspapers/Magazines/Print) and using MediaEdu to help your understanding.

Yr11 Media should be busy planning their practical production and staying focused upon what they want finished videos to look like.

Yr 10 English are focused upon Of Mice and Men and can find a handy link on the navigation bar.

Yr 9 should research Detective Stories (lots of options in the School Library)

Yr 8 are studying Advertising, so make sure to check out all those adverts in Newspapers, on billboards and TV/Radio, making note of the Persuasive Devices used.

Yr 7 are focused on poetry.

Make the most of this term, then enjoy the Christmas break! A New Year awaits us all (2014).

Media - Assignment 3 - Promotion of Music!

You should now have a firm idea of a genre and a chosen song for Assignment 3.

Remember the key to producing a successful Music Video is the planning stage. Everyone in your group needs to know their role and must keep an ongoing individual record of the planning stage.  This will help to achieve a high mark and will inform anyone who examines the final product, how decisions and research influenced your work. This is really important! Do not rely on other group members - you must keep your own records of your input!

Don't forget to make use of the Edusite Website (Use your log-in) and other sites such as Slideshare to help inform your choices.  Watch videos from your chosen genre and try to replicate: the stereotypical camera shots/angles; mise-en-scene (actors facial expressions/setting/props etc); expected storylines that follow the lyrics and other similarities you notice.

Try your best to add your own touch of originality and flair also.  These videos will gain the highest marks.

Good luck.  Clapper board down.  Let's make some music videos!

Welcome back to a new term and start of a new academic year at Saint John Wall School.
You need to be using the next few months wisely. That means realising that this year will pass quickly. There is a lot to learn and only limited time, so don't waste it!

Fot those of you in my Yr 11 Media Group and for those starting GCSE Media in Yr 10 with Miss Hazelwood; I have gained access to a really good site to help you with your understanding of the subject, production of coursework and to help pass the exam!

The link will take you to Media Edusite. You need a password from your teacher to log in, so if you haven't already been given one please see myself or Miss Hazelwood.

Good luck with your forthcoming year at SJW and start using the site to boost your grades!

Best of luck to all pupils taking exams in May and June 2013. To be fair, luck is a small part of the success equation; those of you who have put in the study work will be rightly rewarded in August. There are some useful links on the right hand side which might help with revision. Use what time you have to prepare for the exams.

English Literature Paper 1 on Monday 20th May 09:00 - An Inspector Calls/OMAM
English Literature Paper 2 on Thurs 23rd May 13:30 - Poetry - Conflict Cluster
English Language Tues 4th June 09:00

Can all Media pupils please focus upon the Key Concepts Representation and Institutions. These are essential parts of Assignment 2 and will need sound reference within the body of your work. Remember we're focusing upon Print and producing front covers for a specific audience.
