Representation - 14/10/15

Hello Yr 10 -

For those of you that have finished the previous tasks from last week set on your new blogs here is a new task:

Please do some research on 'Representation'.

Explain what Representation is in Media.

Find a picture from a magazine online.  Use the questions from your representation triangles to analyse this picture/text.

Post your responses and the magazine article on your blog or a link to get to the picture/text/magazine article.

Good Luck!

Yr 10 Task 07/10/15

Image result for football magazine

When looking at target audiences we must consider the groups that they can be categorized into.

This can include age, gender, social status, economic status, ethnicity, hobbies and interests e.t.c.

EXAMPLE:  If I was writing about the audience profile/target audience/typical buyer for the magazine on the right I might suggest the following:

The target audience of this magazine is boys between the age of 7 - 16.  The graphics and colours are bright, reds and blues which are masculine.  The pictures and graphics are cartoon like which would attract this younger audience when on the shelf of the supermarket or shop.  they would probably be from social grading C1 to D on the National Readership Scale below.  The target audience would be from a range of ethnicities and their main interests would be football/sport.

Look up the National Readership Survey and use this as a guide then
look at the products below and see if you can identify the target audience:
